Self-esteem is crucial and is a cornerstone of a positive attitude towards living. It affects how we think, act and even how we relate to other people. High self-esteem enables us to live life to our highest potential. Low self-esteem leads to lack of confidence, often causing negative thoughts, which increase our likelihood of giving up easily rather than face challenges. Self-esteem has a direct bearing on your happiness and well being.
The Amenzone Foundation is founded on the belief that many of the issues facing today’s youth are a result of low self-esteem, poor nutrition and lack of fitness. Many of these issues can be improved through engaging in physical activity and making healthy life choices about nutrition. Issues including childhood obesity, teenage pregnancy, criminal activity, low academic achievement, drug and alcohol abuse, suicide, etc…can often be traced back to a simple lack of self-esteem. While research on the direct connection between physical activity and self-esteem is broad, varies and often centers on adults, studies do clearly support the profound positive impact of physical activity on overall mental health in both adults and children.

We use a back to basics approach in our programs. The physical fitness aspect is done using your own body weight and a tire. We also conclude each session with a game focused on movement and inclusion.
Each week we have a different motivational theme focused on building confidence and self-esteem, as well as, recognizing our warriors of the day who put forth their best effort regardless of ability.
